Languages

The Talky greets in the language of the page it is started on and answers in the visitor's language.

Your Talky speaks your visitors' language. It answers in the language it is addressed in and sticks to it until the visitor switches in whole sentences or asks it to. A few foreign words don't throw it off.

In the language of the page

There are no languages to set. The Talky greets in the language of the page where the conversation begins: Danish on your Danish pages, Polish on the Polish ones. The button, the notice before the conversation and the messages are in that language too, in every European language. In other languages the Talky speaks the page's language and the texts stay in English.

If a page does not name its language, the language of your home page applies. If no page names one, the Talky stays with English. On the Start plan it speaks the language of your home page on every page.

If your website has very many language versions, you can set under Pages ▸ Languages in the conversation that the Talky only knows the pages in the language of the page when it answers, plus a second one if you like.

Your knowledge does not have to be translated for this: the Talky finds the answer in your German price list and explains it in English, Turkish or Polish.

Texts in all languages

You write the greeting and character texts once. When you save, TalkyPage translates them into the other languages of your Talky. If your website has its own language versions, TalkyPage reads them too and matches them up.

Pronunciation

The Talky speaks without a foreign accent. For names and technical terms it stresses wrongly, write the pronunciation into the character.
