Groups of visitors and conversation goals
The Talky recognises who it is talking to, speaks accordingly and leads gently or actively to your goal.
A business customer planning a Christmas party needs a different conversation from a tourist who only wants the opening hours. In the Goals tab you tell your Talky who it is there for and what it should work towards.
Goals
A goal is where a conversation leads at best: an enquiry, a reservation, an order, a call. Every goal has:
- a name,
- a benefit, a sentence the Talky may use to promote it (only what is on your website),
- a way: show a page or fill in a form,
- optionally a page where the goal counts as reached, such as
/thank-you/.
Four levels
| Level | How the Talky behaves |
|---|---|
| Off | It does not pursue the goal. |
| When it suits | It mentions it when it fits the conversation. |
| Moderate | It offers it when the topic comes close. |
| Active | It leads towards it in a friendly way. |
The pace of the levels is set by the code, not by the AI: a Talky never pushes, and a no stays a no. Your protection profile can limit the highest level, for example for medical practices.
Groups of visitors
Optionally you create up to five groups of visitors. Each has:
- how to recognise them, for example "looking for a place for a company party",
- entry pages where these visitors often arrive,
- its own tone and what matters, meaning what the Talky stresses,
- up to two goals, the first takes priority,
- a first question, if you like.
The Talky recognises the group in the conversation and loads its instructions mid-conversation, like a skill. Anyone who fits no group belongs to Everybody else.
Suggest and count
Suggest turns your website into suggestions for goals and groups of visitors, which you take over or discard. Under This month you see how often a goal was offered, reached or declined, and how many conversations each group had.
Rather try it than read about it? Talk to our Talky, or we'll set up a preview on your own website.
